During Week 8, we conducted the paper prototype evaluation and received valuable feedback from our users. Here's a summary of the key highlights and learnings:
1. Paper Prototype Evaluation:
- We followed a structured interview script to test the different flows in our paper prototype, including onboarding, user matching, and booking time with a mentor.
- Each user went through the same interview process to ensure consistency in the feedback received.
2. Onboarding Flow Feedback:
- Users found the landing screen confusing, and we identified that we need to improve the clarity of options, particularly the option to continue with LinkedIn for new users.
- The white space between our text and logo in the onboarding flow was noted as an area for improvement.
3. User Matching + Home Screen Feedback:
- While there was no confusion, users observed that the swiping functionality wasn't immediately clear. Some users preferred tapping the buttons for profile interaction instead of swiping.
- Feedback was received about the play button on the user's profile, and we acknowledged that it wasn't an ideal design.
4. Booking Time with Mentor Feedback:
- Users encountered confusion when prompted with the first question and mistakenly tapped the "Calendar" button icon instead of the "Messages" icon tab, which highlighted the need for clearer design cues.
Overall, the evaluation provided us with valuable insights and pointed out areas of improvement in our paper prototype. We recognized the importance of making the user experience more intuitive, reducing confusion, and refining design elements.
Looking ahead, we will address the points of confusion and hesitation identified by users and iterate on our paper prototype accordingly. By incorporating this feedback, we aim to create a more user-friendly and efficient application design.
